An OpenGL high resolution spherical harmonic modeller for MS® Windows and Linux. Exports OBJ and PLY.

After 3D conversion to an appropriate format, the high resolution files are ideally suited to 3D printing. A quad overlay has been implemented, which can be drawn over the triangular mesh via the 'View' menu. The resoultion can be set to Low, Medium, High, Super or Custom. For Custom resolutions, enter values in the Stacks and Slices fields.

Regarding morphing UFOs – it struck me that many UFO shapes – bells, oblate spheroids, ‘peanuts’ and ‘sombreros’ etc., are readily obtained via spherical harmonics; and these might be the visible manifestation as the 'craft' changes frequency to drop in and out of our dimension...
